Tim Clark

I was a secondary teacher for 32 years and a Head for 18 of those years. In my first headship we led a coasting selective school to be “outstanding” in all areas (it remains “outstanding” and one of the highest performing schools in the East Midlands), and we “transformed” (Ofsted, 2017) my second school which was, when I first arrived, an out of control comprehensive academy in East London, sited on one of the largest and most deprived council estates in the country. In both schools I regularly led staff training and coaching, and also supported other Heads through training and mentoring. In 2020 I moved into consultancy and professional development training both in the UK and abroad (most recently in Nigeria and Spain). I work both freelance and for an international training company (Dragonfly Training, Cardiff). I specialise in school improvement and leadership development (middle, senior and governance) as well as leading training on such topics as difficult conversations, managing difficult parents and on behaviour management.
